Questions We Get a Lot

A direct drive extruder mounts the motor directly above the print head, which gives you much tighter control over filament retraction and makes it easier to print flexible materials reliably. A Bowden setup places the motor farther away from the hot end, reducing moving mass for faster travel speeds at the cost of some retraction precision. If you are printing flexible or specialty filaments, a direct drive machine like our multi-color 600mm/s printer is generally the stronger choice.

The handheld scanners in this collection offer precision down to 0.03mm, which is well-suited for capturing detailed mechanical parts, figurines, product prototypes, and organic shapes. Objects with matte, textured surfaces tend to scan most reliably, while highly reflective or transparent surfaces may benefit from a light scanning spray. The 24-bit full-color models in our lineup also capture surface color data alongside geometry, giving you production-ready scan files.

It depends on the machine and material. The 40W and 50W CO2 laser engravers in our best sellers are capable of cutting through materials like wood, acrylic, and MDF at appropriate thicknesses, in addition to detailed surface engraving. The lower-wattage and portable handheld models are engineered primarily for surface marking on wood, metal, leather, and plastic. We recommend reviewing the wattage and working area specs for each unit to match the machine to your specific project requirements.

We offer free shipping on most orders within the continental U.S., excluding Alaska and Hawaii. If you receive a machine that does not meet your expectations, our 30-day return policy gives you time to evaluate your purchase, and full details are available in our Return Policy. We recommend reviewing the return guidelines before initiating a return to ensure a smooth process.
